E. Eugene Carter Opportunity Award

Subsidized federal loan repayment up to $20,0000, minimum of 3 students to be awarded, selected sophomore or first semester of junior year (30-74 credits), FT, must complete a bachelor’s degree in engineering (including computer science, informatics and cybersecurity) within 6 years of matriculation, female, Hispanic, preference for immigrants or daughters of immigrants, additional preference for students involved with SWE or SHPE and/or have a federal work-study job on campus, and/or those acting as tutors or mentors to other students and/or first gen, financial need, awards not based on GPA but rather hardship and the risk of not completing a degree
